Hay bales would be dropped by means of side chutes, being broken up and fed on the cattle. Straw bales might be dropped down the center chute, to be dispersed as bedding during the livestock standing/resting locations.  A crafted-in shear cuts through huge items, doing away with the necessity for breaking down cumbersome goods ahead of baling.  T
